What is Detailing?
Detailing has different meanings depending on whom you ask, to me detailing means bringing the vehicle back to "like new" conditions which requires a thorough cleaning of the interior and exterior beyond the typical washing and waxing. I believe to thoroughly clean the exterior you will need to clay bar and polish out all the contamination then proceed to seal the new condition.

How often should I wax my car?
If using a carnauba wax, it will need to be re-waxed monthly. If using a polymer wax, 2-3 months.If I have clay bared and sealed the paint, it will last 4-6 months.
What products do you use?
I use a variety of products for different situations,paints,make and models. The list includes Meguiars, Optimum, Menzerna, Chemical Guys, Zaino, 3M, Rain-X, Extreme, Lake Country, Hi-Temp, Mothers, Poorboys, Clearkote, Porter Cable, Makita.
Can I do this myself?
My answer is yes and no. When it comes to detailing, most can wash, vacuum, dust and wipe down interiors and engine bays well enough, BUT when it comes to clay barring, paint correction and proper technique you will need to hire a professional detailer. Most people don't have the time, tools, experience, or skill level it takes to bring their vehicles to a like new condition.
How did you get started detailing?
I have always been a car enthusiast by nature, however, when I was 16 and got my first car, I found myself always washing it, waxing it, doing whatever I could to make it look good. Then with my car always clean, friends, family, neighbors, whomever it may be would ask how do I always keep it so clean and what do I do. Being in school, I would start detailing on the weekends in my free time to make a little extra money. Then after countless of hours online researching, talking to professionals, and wanting to take detailing to the next step, I decided to invest the time, money and effort it took to become a professional detailer. I am now an ongoing member of Autopia.org which is the worlds leading detailing website. Why is detailing important?
Detailing is more than important, it's protecting your investments. Think about it this way, in most cases after your home, your car is your next biggest investment. You wouldn't go a few months without cleaning your home, so why go that long without cleaning your car? It's extremely important to keep the condition of your vehicle up to par. A vehicle in great shape has a higher resale value than a car which is neglected. Your cars paint is like your skin.
